Today we,  finished the work (better late than never!) that  time and weather constraints had previously slowed us down. MYP2 students, stripped the bench of old paint, sanded it down and then cleaned it,  in preparation for today’s glossing, all in order to “Do the Right Thing”.

Students first took part in a guided tour at the Museo di Palazzo Reale, aimed at identifying, within the exhibited works such as frescoes, paintings, and sculptures, traces of the three guiding themes connected to the disease's invisible symptoms: self-determination, unpredictability and invisibility.

Afterwards, the students took part in an experiential workshop with some volunteers from the association, in order to directly experience these symptoms.

Eventually, they created an original poem that offered a young and personal perspective on the disease, drawing inspiration from the invisible symptoms and the emotional and inner dimensions, that are often unseen but deeply affect people’s lives.

On Thursday 26th March, the MYP1 class visited the Old Dock area in Genoa as part of the educational activity organized by the BE-Natural project (Human Well-being through Nature: Protecting Biodiversity and Promoting Small-Scale Fishing in the Ligurian Sea). Since the class was studying food-chains and ecosystems, and this was an opportunity to add a real-life experience while learning about the fish that live in the Ligurian Sea and the importance of sustainable fishing. During the visit the students met fishermen, observed different types of fishing boats, visited the fish market to identify the different species found in Liguria and participated in a lesson about sustainable fishing given by Simona Bussotti (marine biologist).

The working sessions and debates focused on ‘Diplomacy in a Multipolar World’, where rising global actors and shifting alliances demand new diplomatic strategies. Delegates addressed a broad range of challenges—from managing trade tensions and regulating emerging technologies, to safeguarding human rights and building post-conflict societies.

Delegates, each in their respective Committees, were required to: draft, present, lobby co-submitters and signatories, debate and vote to pass their proposed resolutions focusing on three different specific topics of global importance.

Our school is proud and grateful for the meaningful and fruitful role-play enacted by our delegation of students which showed great ATL skills and IB Learner Profile Attributes in action!

Thank you to all  of the PYP5  and  MYP1-3 students  who helped   Banca Degli Occhi   by buying or selling lottery tickets. Many students have already sold a great number of them.

On Wednesday 3^rd of June, from 7.50am  to 8am, just before school, students can deposit their sold tickets and donations in the collection box, which will be manned by volunteers from this charity organisation at the main entrance.

If you would still  like to buy some, you can  buy them at this time.

We are also using this opportunity to hand over the used glasses that we have collected.  Again, if you still have some at home, this is a great time to bring them:   Wednesday 3^rd of June, from 7.50am  to 8am Main Entrance:  DIS.
