That is crazy! A disease capable of killing millions is now in the United States. Considering the luxury of living in the USA, this was the first real threat many kids have dealt with. It sounds remarkable, knowing that all of my family members have easily survived except my great grandma, Tamara Glazerman (A.K.A. “Baba”). Therefore, I am exceptionally thankful for the ease we experienced throughout the pandemic. Regarding Baba, she lived a very long (91 years) and happy life. Besides, her husband, whom she passionately loved, was waiting for her to join him wherever they are peacefully resting. Looking back on the most intense moments of Covid, I am decently proud of how I dealt with the struggles that the pandemic brought. From moving across the country during a time where meeting friends was nearly impossible, to raising our new puppy, I am proud of myself. When I think of Covid, I think of Baba. She was always extremely loving. Whenever we visited her, she always had my favorite Russian food prepared, Kotletki. She has always made the best Kotletki in the world. Wherever you are, Tamara and Alexander Glazerman, I know you are watching me. I will make you proud. For about a year, I gave up. I never thought I would make friends, find my purpose in Florida, or reach the point I’m at today. All because of Covid. Coronavirus, I and 8 billion other people hate you. Almost no one benefited from you, except hand sanitizer companies. I couldn’t make friends, my puppy, Lola, didn’t get to explore the world for a year, kids couldn’t normally interact, obesity skyrocketed, suicide rates increased, poverty skyrocketed, activites disappeared, summer camp was cancelled, addictions were created, social skills were diminished, and my grandma died. F*ck you Covid. However, Coronavirus, thank you for one thing. A motivation to emerge from the pandemic better than ever. And that is what I did. Through the many disciplinary lectures, to the tears shed, quarreling between my family, I worked out everyday and reached the best shape of my life. Covid, let’s hop in a boxing ring. No gloves, no headgear, I’ll show you what you have done. First round is mine. Then, the rest of the world will have a chance, if there is anything left of you after round one.
