In Salva's life he was in a risky situation where there were people fighting against the government. He heard gunshots during school and his class had to hide. Salva ran as far as he could away with nobody he knew away from his family. He was probably very scared
and worried. He had to find his village group while running too. This shows how hard it was for Salva. My life is much different. In Canada you don't hear gunshots. Our country is very peaceful too. Since the housing and buildings are closer together we would not need to run far away from things and would always find a way back home easily. In Windsor the only gunshots you would probably hear would be on a movie, video game, or a video. That is how my life and Salva's life are different.

It is also different because if he gets caught he could be forced to go to war as a child and has a very high chance of dying. I know it is also a lot scarier because he could get shot. In Canada we don't have to worry about people running around with guns pillaging the city. Canada is very peaceful with no wars. Even though he has a family just like us, they got separated from each other and are commanded to do stuff. People in Canada also have food when in Sudan they struggle to find an

He and his family get water from a river that has dirty things in it that can give you diseases. We get our water from the Detroit River. We have a system where they clean water for us as in for Salva they don't have clean water at all. I really think kids theses days should read "A Long Walk To Water" so they understand what they had in Sudan and why they should be thankful for what they have.

So when the author mentions Salva's problem you remember what Nya's story was and you compare them.
