By collaborating with each other it will allow us to catch gaps students have with common standards. We are also able increase rigor/extend by not repeated unnecessary standards/activities if students have already mastered it the previous year. 
2.)  In 4th grade we will include more written responses on assessments in all subjects. For example, response to literature essays on reading tests. We will adjust the way we teach figurative language to have them really explain and interpret the meaning of a the figurative language.  5th grade will begin with a review unit of grammar and reading workshop.
