1. How will the collaboration between grade levels help us all achieve our goal of mastery of instruction?
2. Think of at least one instructional shift you will make based on the discussions you had at today's meeting that you plan on implementing next school year.

1. Kindergarten and 1st grade will continue to communicate throughout the year on things that need extra work between each grade level. This communication will help us stay on the same page and help with the transition from K to 1st.

2. One instructional shift we will make is focusing on writing complete thoughts and knowing where to end a thought with punctuation. Also focus more on handwriting.

1. Standards are similar between grade levels, so in order to best plan instruction, teachers must be keenly aware of the progress/weaknesses of the previous/following year.
2. 2nd grade will continue with increased fluency practice. For the coming year, they will consider teaching graphing at the beginning of each unit versus the end to ensure that adequate time is allowed. ** Still interested in generating a school-wide vocabulary list for math terms**

1.) By discussing the standards that we both teach/build upon, it helps us better reach each student's needs. By collaborating with each other it will allow us to catch gaps students have with common standards. We are also able increase rigor/extend by not repeated unnecessary standards/activities if students have already mastered it the previous year.
2.) In 4th grade we will include more written responses on assessments in all subjects. For example, response to literature essays on reading tests. We will adjust the way we teach figurative language to have them really explain and interpret the meaning of a the figurative language. 5th grade will begin with a review unit of grammar and reading workshop. This will allow us to fill any gaps and review before we dive into the more complicated standards.
