In the song "Another Brick in the Wall, Pt 2" - by Pink Floyd. There is a line

"We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control

No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers, leave them kids alone."

This line highlights that the education, particularly the British system, is less about learning and more about conformity. The line dark sarcasm in the classroom shows how the teachers have too much power and uses things like grades and conformity to control the students. Thus making them say, teachers, leave them kids alone.

This ties back to the banking system, and how they are flawed. The power dynamic between teachers and students is not one that fosters learning, it is more about control and power.

“Where the Green Grass Grows” by Tim McGraw

“But all of this glitter is getting dark
There's concrete growin' in the city park
I don't know who my neighbors are
There's bars on the corners and bars on my heart”

McGraw discusses the lack of freedom he feels being stuck in a busy city, which is a stark contrast when compared to his upbringing in the rural countryside. This sense of freedom highlights the varying cultural and educational experiences people have depending on their upbringing, and leads to vastly different responses to various environments/teaching methods.

Lyric: "They love to tell you stay inside the lines but somethings better on the other side”

This relates to the Banking system of education as the rigid structure talked about in the banking system is comparable to coloring between the lines. The system wants you to know what it wants you to know, without giving you the opportunity to investigate the topic or express yourself.

In Fifteen by Taylor Swift there is a line: "Cause when you're fifteen
And somebody tells you they love you
You're gonna believe them"

These lyrics can relate to what we discussed today because of the dominance and authority of teachers in the American School System. The youth in school can often be censored to only certain information to memorize, and it is all they know, so it is easy for them to believe it without question. We only knew what we were taught and in a lot of instances, we didn't know there was room for question.

"Don't Be a Dropout" by James Brown
This song highlights the importance of education, urging young people to stay in school and avoid the pitfalls of quitting too soon. It also relates to the banking system.

"Without an education, you might as well be dead."
I like this song because it directly speaks to the consequences of leaving school early and the opportunities that are lost without an education. It’s a powerful reminder of why schooling matters.

"Where is my mind": Even though this is the title of the song, I immediately tied it back to education and the struggles students endure. As a student there is a million things going through my mind between all my courses. Sometimes there is no room for other original thoughts and only what teachers tell you to believe.
