As a peer leader, you will be a problem solver. However, this does not mean you will provide answers, give advice or take responsibility for someone else's problem. You will not make decisions or take actions for them. As a peer leader you will guide them through the decision making process by using the problem solving model. We as peer leaders are only allowed to guide others in these types of situations. This method allows the people involved to think for themselves on how they should go about the problem, which can lead to more honesty, more genuine apologies,etc. Telling them what they should do or giving advice wouldn't be the best way to go about it because you don't know if that will actually work in their situation.
