"The Lord of The Flies" occurs in the post-WW2 and Cold War era. The author of the text (William Golding) had been a junior officer in the Royal Navy during the war. This inspired him in many ways more than one on certain details in the book, because of this William uses his experiences to add more detail on how people communicate and how people were social in this time with the characters. He also does something similar with the emotions the characters feel, all relating to this era of post-WW2 ideals and social constructs. William uses political climate when giving his characters their beliefs and or flight or fight responses in the harsh atmosphere they indore in the book.

The Industrial Revolution transformed economies that had been based on agriculture and handicrafts into economies based on large-scale industry, mechanized manufacturing, and the factory system. It gave more jobs, improved transportation, and made a faster way of life. The Industrial Revolution had concern with the working conditions of the British poor and the growing divide between the poor and the British elite. It created child labor, discrimination against women, long working hours etc.This created unhappiness. H.G. Wells is often considered the father of Science Fiction. Another fact is that his works inspired and influenced real-life scientific advancement.

Lots of people went through an unhappy emotional and physical state of well-being. The industrail revolution also created negative thigns such as the introducing child labor, views/discrimination against women, and working hours were long. The father of science fiction is considered to be H.G. Wells. Another fact that is he wrote more than 50 novels and dozens of short stories.

You can tell that William uses his naval experiences and the time period in the stories because the stories are very relatable and emotionaly easy to follow along with.
