The flying squirrel's house

The flying squirrel lives in older mixed, mostly spruce forests that have hollow aspens suitable for a nesting tree. The squirrel makes its nest in the tree hollow, 4-10 metres from the ground. Both natural hollows and those made by woodpeckers are suitable. It is very important for spruces to be growing in the immediate vicinity of the flying squirrel's nesting tree, which provide protection when leaving the tree.

Here, in Sagedi mõis, I learned about how can we try to make our environment better. For instance: timber furniture holds carbon dioxide in it, so you can use this furniture longer, and it's much better than concrete, because in order to make concrete, people burn fuels and polluting the air we breathe.

Here, in Sagedi manor, we listened to a guide, who told us a lot of different historical gems of Sagedi manor. I thought, that this building was abandoned at least 200 years ago, but turns out that it was used until 1939, because the II World War came to Estonia. In order to save the lives, landlords and their families went back to Germany. Of course, they used to have some servants, but after they went back to Germany, they didn't have any servants anymore, and they were learning how to do simple things like putting on clothes, etc.
