The snaking helps to integrate students well. Pupils of better academic ability can help the others who are weak. The banding of top 2 helps identify students who are stronger in some subjects.

Weakness

However, the banding is based only on EL & Maths. MT & Sci is not considered. So, it dismisses the pupils who could be better in MT to be in the top classes. It does not give an accurate picture of an all rounder.
