1) Sarah ruptured her vertebral artery in her neck. The rupture of the artery caused a severe intracranial hemorrhage causing her to go into cardiac arrest.

2) Cardiac arrest is when a person looses functions of the heart which can cause the heart to stop functioning. This results in not enough blood flow to the brain sometimes which causes loss of oxygen to the brain (Sarah's case).

3) Doctors were able to repair the ruptured artery; however, this did not fix the problems that was caused by the cardiac arrest

4) Sarah sustained irreversible brain damage after going into cardiac arrest which hindered the supply of oxygen to her brain (cerebral hypoxia). She then died from the brain damage.

BSF

Sarah Bruke died nine days after crashing on a training run in the super pipe a week before X games in Aspen, Colorado. Sarah was performing a trick that fellow skiers say she lands 99% of the times. She over-rotated on the second back flip and her body violently slammed against the rock-hard snow. She then slipped into cardiac arrest where paramedics performed CPR to revive her. Although the CPR was successful Burke recieved too much damaged to her brain and passed away 9 days after the crash.

EBH
