As if he were composer
Modulating his song
For the earth and sun, 
the moon and stars
For men of peace
and men of war;
the details of this flower,
of this bird, or the worm
occupied him for so long
that seconds were hours.
A melody plucked on a heart harp
by the little poor man
with the open soul
and the open hands.
