Performance based running record of student ability. Showcasing the best of their ability, not just a filing box for everything they do. Provides a great indicator of not only where they are, but where they still may need to go on the path to understanding their new language. Can be useful in many classroom setting ideas, but very useful in a discipline that is already difficult to assess. Perfect assessment basis if the student has to change ELL teachers over the course of their instruction, as well as a record of their achievements that can follow them to secondary school as well.
