Thank you for all of your prayers, thoughts, and messages as I recover from back surgery. Thank you to my team and Michelle for dinner for my family. We feel So loved and well taken care of! My girls have had the best summer due to my family and friends support system and Andrew has been the absolute BEST nurse as I recover. It’s been a wild ride and hard, but I know Gods plan is bigger than mine.

This has been a full summer and is just continuing to be busy - but with lots of fun! Jared and I just got home from an 8 day trip that started by ourselves in Boston for 3 days and ended with a 5 day stay at my best friend’s house in Attleboro, Massachusetts. Her job is leading a study abroad program at a college in Boston, so needless to say, she planned the perfect trip maximizing our time in the area! We did Cape Cod, Rhode Island beaches, Mystic, Connecticut, a game at Fenway Park, the Freedom Trail…and more! She even took me to Taylor Swift’s holiday house(as seen in photo…lol), something we’ve talked about doing since she moved 5 years ago! Lots of fun and lots of walking. I hope that everyone is having a great summer and fun travels of their own!

Our summer has be filled with Florida beach days, pool days, boat days, horse days, fishing days, and family days. We went kayaking, we visited a few water parks, Top Golf, and watched a couple movies. We got to see my parents, sisters, niece, and Nanny. We re-modeled our guest bath and a book case. All in all, I don't think I could have had a better summer with my people.

I hope everyone had a great summer. Chuy and I spent much of our summer in El Paso after the loss of his father. My father-in-law had a great long life and saw many things over his 98 years, including serving in World War II before he even graduated from high school. We did get to spend time with family while there and so it was a great celebration of his life. Chuy had artificial cervical disc replacement surgery this summer also, and he is doing well. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts, and prayers are much appreciated if you are so inclined. I look forward to seeing everyone very soon and hope you all enjoy what time you have left.

We traveled to Alabama for my niece's Air Force officer training graduation and then spent a week with family at Lake Martin, AL. The rest of the summer was spent swimming and having fun!

My boys are my world! My oldest Jordan and I spent a whole day together car shopping for Xander then surprised him by giving him the car on his birthday. Hendrix and I enjoyed watching the fireworks at Adriatica. Xander, Hendrix, and I loved every moment we were able to walk out our backdoor and enjoy the pool.

We spent a week in the beach in Destin (staying away from the sharks), hung out in Louisiana visiting family, and just spending some down time around here. Allie and I went to see Shrek the musical, New Kids On the Block, and I do believe every movie that came out this summer! Blake has been home all summer so I have been doing lots more laundry and lots more grocery shopping! 😂. Christian was able to come home for the 4th, so my mama heart was happy to have all my babes home at the same time!

Thank you all SO much for your help in getting our 4th graders ready for their upcoming program on Tuesday. Monica and Kelli stayed after school last Thursday to help me set up and align risers on the stage (we had some amazing student helpers as well!!) My fantastic Specials teammates and our awesome 4th grade teachers played a huge role in our first whole-grade rehearsal on Friday morning. It was such a success thanks to them, and I was so proud of our kiddos!

Everyone at Walker has made me feel so welcomed and supported as I start my first year of teaching, and I would not be nearly in the place that I am now without y'all. You are wonderful colleagues and lights to those around you!

THANK YOU, my Walker Family, for your support, encouragement, and love during this hard time. I recently had to have an unexpected back surgery that has a longer than anticipated recovery time. Being away from my Walker family (my precious students and staff that have become my family ) has been so very difficult. So much so that when Diana dropped by, I could not help but hug her and just cry. I've had a really hard time with this whole ordeal, but YOU... No Cancer!

After almost 2 weeks of waiting for a report, and an additional week of waiting to hear from the doctor, we recieved the news that my mom remains cancer free! There were a few things that she will set appointments for, like some scarring in her left lung from a lung collapse a few years ago, a nodule on her adrenal gland, and, of course, the fluid around her heart. Thank you so much for your thoughts these past few weeks. Life is so much easier when people are doing it alongside you!

I am so grateful for all the staff members in that help every day make my sweet girl's day something she us willing to participate in. She spent 6 hours PERSISTENTLY working on her STAAR test yesterday with NO complaints. As I watched her in awe at 2 pm reading STILL, with a GOOD attitude and the willingness to not give up. That is the product of the village that surrounds her at Walker. What do I know? That is mastery in my mind. Whatever the score may be. Persistence, grit, hard work, and overcoming a huge reading obstacle to do her best.
