Sadly a lot of people died and ships were destroyed at this “terrible time“. But fortunately the Japanese army won many battles and Kensuke´s navy too. Old times in Japan started to come back and Kensuke visitied his family often. But that didnt last longer, “war go on long time“ and Americans were destroying completely Japan. They lost all their battles, they even killed a lot of people in Kensuke's boat! A lot of people escaped from the ship but Kensuke was hopeful and stayed with his patients . His life was on the edge of the line and he was the only one that was able to stay alive in the boat and managed to escape. He found food and drink to survive and settled in a cave with the rest of the things on the boat, where he could protect himself from the storm. He soon met orang utans and they became very good friends. But Kensuke refused to surrender, so he hided in the forest with the orang utans by singing them a lullaby. But  the american soldiers still hurt many animals. While Kensuke was hidden he heard the american soldiers building a fire on the beach and  laughing because all the people in Nagasaki died. Later they left the island and  never noticed Kensuke was there because his ship was drowned  deep into the sand, “part of the island now“.
