Many people wonder if the teaching profession will disappear because of the new technologies and the other changes in the world. While some are asking this question, others are looking for solutions, as teaching occupation's dying out is a threat. To fight this menace, teachers have to change their view towards teaching practice, accepting that teacher's role has changed, not only because of the new technologies, but also because of society's trivial changes themselves. Teachers no longer own knowledge; teachers are no longer lecturers. Now the teacher is a guide, and, as guide, he helps students select information and construct knowledge.

I find it very interesting what is stated in the article "Using the technollogy of today in the classroom today": "What is good learning? That may be a subjective question. But it’s likely that many educators would give answers
that fall in the same ballpark...
...students collaborating and discussing ideas, possible solutions...
...project-based learning, designed around real world contexts...
...connecting with other students around the world, on topics of study...

...immersing students in a learning experience that allows them to grapple with a problem,

gaining higher-order thinking skills from pursuing the solution...

To many educators, these notions are music to their ears. Would it seem terribly strange then to hear that stu-
dents indeed are doing these things regularly outside of their classrooms?".
In other words, technology can be a big partner. The main reason, perhaps, is because students tend to be atracted by it, so they will turn to it to solve their problems, to help them learn. Thus, I believe, that so must we to turn to new technologies to be nearer our students and, of course, to boost the teaching-learning process.

I think that the format of the course itself was somewhat unsuitable for online students. I mean, the format in which the classes were recorded. Some exercises, and sometimes whole lessons, to a certain extent were pointless, as they had been design for a face to face learning context.
As for the approaches, in my opinion, they were very interesting, specially the ones in which the teacher gave examples of online tools to use in the classroom.
On the whole, I would say that the classes were inspirational, once I was led to reflect on my teaching methodology and on how I can include new technologies in my classroom.

How I would apply New Technologies in my classes.

There is an infinite number of pedagogical tasks that I could propose using New Technologies.
I particularly like humor, so I would make use of memes. For example, I would ask students to use the internet to find memes that have Portuguese versions so that the students could compare the language structure. I would bring memes that don't have Portuguese versions that we could discuss the underlying cultural aspects. I could also work with Youtube videos suggesting that the students participate in foruns as a strategy to make them interact with people in English.
As I said, the possibilities are several, we just have to put them into practice.
