Windmills and waterwheels captured some extra energy, but there was little in reserve. All life operated within the fairly immediate flow of energy from the Sun to Earth)(Pg.5).

Conceptual Thinking (Alex): At the end of the third close read, you should respond to the following questions: The innovations of the Industrial Revolution transformed textile production. Can you think of innovations today in some other industry that are transforming that industry and changing the way humans live? What are some of the characteristics of this transformation that you think are similar to what happened in the Industrial Revolution? Are there characteristics of this transformation that you think make it different?

Some innovations that are transforming the life of humans, are for example, the creation of the of cars and planes. With the creation of cars and planes, humans can now go farther distances at a faster time. Also, traveling isn't a problem anymore. Some cars use up a lot of gas, but newer cars use electricity, which is environmental friendly.

This changes the way of how humans live because most modern cars do not need to use any gas, instead they use technology. The transformation of this innovation is similar to the characteristics to what happened in the industrial revolution by advancing on the technology in which they had. This innovation makes a difference because instead of wasting gas and creating polluting the world would become a bit less polluted.

The innovations that is changing humans in the way they live are new technology. This changes the way humans live because we don't have a normal conversations like back when there was no technology. Now we only video chat, texts, or we call each other. It does have negative and positive outcomes but the transformation is that we still continue to collectively learn.
