Must (strong certainty 99%)
she must be at work because it is 11:00 am.
May/might/could ( possibility 50%)
yesterday he took part in a competition so she could be tired.
Can’t (strong IMPOSSIBILITY/99% sure it’s not true)
that can’t be true because I talked to my sister.

Now, when the event happend in the past the speculation has to be writen different.

1.-MUST HAVE (strong certainty, 99% about the past)

She must have forgotten the meeting, she was very distracted.

2.- COULD/MAY/MIGHT + HAVE (past possibility 50%)

The might have missed the train, there was a lot of traffic.

3.- CAN'T + HAVE (strong impossibility in the past, 99%, something didn't happen)

He can't have said that because i was there .
