School Counselor's Role as Advocates:

School counselors have a responsibility to act as an advocate for students. Being an advocate means standing up for the student's rights and well-being in the school environment. As advocates, school counselors must bring awareness to issues such as LGBT+ bullying in the school culture (Abreu, Black, Mosley, & Fedewa, 2016). It is also essential to develop school-wide interventions to help at-risk students feel safe and supported while at school.
References:

Abreu, R.

I took the implicit weight association test. My results showed that I have a strong automatic preference for thin people over fat people. The culminated web results showed that 31% of people showed an automatic preference for thin people over fat people. Only 1% of people that took this test showed an automatic preference for fat people over thin people.

I am not sure how accurate this implicit association test is. The test conditions you to associate certain buttons with each category and then switch them halfway through. They give each test category two times to try and fight this conditoning which it might; however, I mess up on keyboards all the time, and when buttons are switched, I will continue to make mistakes. This is a big reason I do not like playing online video games. I am willing to admit I have a slight - moderate bias towards thin people, but it is not a strong preference. I have not ever treated other people differently based on their weight. I am extremely tough on myself about my weight, though. I have body image issues that started after I had kids, which I am actively trying to work through. I know it is generally healthier to be thin versus fat, and I strive to be the healthiest version of myself. I have not treated anyone I know differently based on their weight, I have friends and family of all sizes, and I love them and treat them with respect, love, and acceptance.
