Why do you think that the Continental Congress shaped the Articles of Confederation the way that they did? Any potential problems that you see?

I think that the Continental Congress shaped the Articles of Confederation the way they did because they didn't want the events that happened to them with Great Britain to be repeated. Some problems that I see are that all the colonies have a lot of power to themselves, which can eventually break out into a war between the colonies themselves.

I think that Articles of Confederation the way they did because they wanted all of the states to be independent, as well as all the colonists to have a say in the laws. One of the problems might be too much power over the colonies, which can lead to overruling the government. Another problem might be conflicts between the states, since the government will not help out in state rivalries, according to the confederation.

They had many fears that they would become another Britain, which was what they were trying to get away from in the first place. Some of the Articles were too fair, making the government very weak with almost no power. Disputes and other conflicts could go on forever between states without the Congress to be able to stop it. The colonies probably could overrule all the Congress' actions and put the Congress "out of business".

They shaped the Articles of Confederation like that because they believed that the government had to have little power, and the states could make their own decisions and options. Although this sounded good in the beginning, later on, the government would not be able to settle issues, or have a proper army, or have enough money. This could possibly weaken the nation and eventually collapse it due to too much power being associated with the 13 states.

This could also cause financial problems because the citizens do not pay the tax as much and because of that the Government could end up in a down fall and in financial depths.

Also they wanted to be fair to all of the states so then there would not be any problems between the states. Some features might be a problem because it gives the states less hope in their congress and makes them have less confidence in the congress(they do not have a good army/a lot of money)

To make their nation different than how it was when King George III ruled over them. Rather than being united will lead to their government won't prove very effective.

The initial purpose for the Articles of Confederation was to change what they didn't like about the government in Britain and that left many problems. They may not have liked the amount of power the government had, but they chose to put all the power to the people. That left America without any leaders and indecisive about any major decisions. Even with the people in power, they needed a leader to make the tough calls.
