The urban sectors of Mexico are facing threats due to the unsustainability of their relationship with the United States as it creates disproportional growth and disparities in development across their states but even in these more developed states there are massive threats to the health of the people with O3 levels being dangerously high in urban areas and although efforts are being made to combat this like through the development of the cable car industry which has made a recordable difference if the root of the problem is not addressed then safer living conditions are not going to be an option

The presence of maquiladoras across Mexico has built a significant amount of industry in Mexico allowing them to have a noticeable presence in global markets but to maintain that presence/ dominance in these markets when competing with some of the cheapest most efficient manufacturing sites in the world production costs need to be as low as possible this was done through superiors pushing their employees harder during the pandemic productivity. providing minimal worker compensation along with imposing no internal regulation on harmful carcinogenic waste product
