It was shown that Danny was embarrassed when he entered the school late with Chin-Kee, telling to Chin-Kee stay quiet for the day. But when class started, Chin-Kee began to answer all the questions all the teachers were asking. With Chin-Kee answering everything, that further embarrassed Danny. When it was finally time for lunch, one of Danny's friends assumed that he started hanging out with other people, but that idea was quickly shot down by Danny saying that Chin-Kee was simply a cousin of his who was visiting. It's shown that Danny would not want to be friends with Chin-Kee if he had choice. He might wante Chin-Kee to stay quiet so it doesn't bring attention to him also. He doens't want people to know that they are cousins. Danny wants Chin-Kee to not answer questions in class because Danny sits next to him and he doesn't really want to be seen sitting next to him (which is really mean). Chin-Kee knows more about teh U.S. government that the Amercian students do and he has more knowledge and he is really smart and I feel like that's where people start to get annoyed of him.
