When we first discussed this novel, I didn't really think about its genre. The genre of philosophical fiction is very interesting. The Stranger really focuses on the darker parts of human life and the meaning of life itself. I also didn't remember that eyes were an important symbol. I didn't think about the fact that Meursault can only see himself in the eyes of others. The novel was certainly interesting to read, but I was confused on what it all meant and what the characters represented. I just knew it was, well, strange! I love the graphics and how you separated everything to make it easy to read. This was one of the novels I struggled with, and I learned a lot from your infographic, especially about the genres. I have a better understanding of existentialism and philosophical fiction, and this really made me think of how they were related. I also never thought of Meursault and Raymond as foils, but I understand how they could be because Raymond seemed to push Meursault into much of the trouble he got in.
