As a result, the media is not as objective as it should be in informing the public of the issues that affect them. However, change is coming to Italy and the transformation has started in the film industry whereby foreign media has started infiltrating the Italian media and depicting the country’s story in various ways as a way to make people notice the evils that surround them. Most of Italy’s media is awash with the beautiful scenery of Italy, and this forms the picture that is visible to the outsiders. Government involvement in media matters is thus wanting, as the government owns most media channels, and the private ones are regulated strictly to ensure that that entire story of Italy is good and not damaging in any way. Although a considerable number people are connected and are able to get news, the news that often reaches the consumer is not factual in most cases. According to Ghannam (2012), emerging technologies in the Arab world has given rise to freedom of expression of its people and it is certain that, the internet, as a tool of communication, has helped in the process of democratization of the region.
