I used a lot of lights and darks to achieve a layered look. I wish I had composed it better; despite my best efforts to bring them together, the leaves at the top don't go with the fishbowl at the botttom. However, the water was difficult for me. I'm still not completely happy with how it looks, especially the top. I've also never worked with texturing materials like gesso and rope before, and it was a good explorative experience. I like how I created the illusion of a light source by varying the tones in the gravestone and the background.
