1. This week's study plan and the area I focus on:

I want to use the remaining time to find 6 sources about the title of my thesis and make a three-minute presentation ppt after completing my daily self-study, live session and homework. After this main task is completed, I hope I can read the literature and make a framework for my essay.

2. The progress of the thesis:

Because my essay is a type of discussion, I have to think reasons for the supporter and the opponent to support their argument, and find out my own views and related support. I have seen everyone discussing related this title in some forums. I divided them into two camps to classify and study their views and reasons. Then I thought about my own arguments and looked for cases to try to convince them.

3. Suggestions on the live session:

I hope that the tutor can guide us on some common expression problems, grammar problems or writing problems in our homework. In addition, I hope there is a reading comprehension class that tells us how to quickly read and reading skills.

There are many definitions of success, just like one thousand readers have one thousand Hamlet. For me, when i am in a state where I am learning and have the ability to make money, take care of my family members, let others happy and recognize correctly, I succeed.

I do not expect to have a high social status or a wide range of social circle. I only hope that the answers are always “yes” when I am asking myself: Are you happy today? Are you improving today?

The American scholar Goethe once said: Only those who have real talents, understand their own power, and are good at using their power appropriately and carefully, can be successful in trivial things and daily life. I agree with his idea and I am managing to do it .

Summary of Guest lecture

Summary: In the guest lecture Dr. Skempton talked about Definition of philosophy, examples of philosophical issues, branches of philosophy, the relationship between philosophy and religion, the relationship between philosophy and science, the limitations of science and the philosophy of social disciplines, seven modules. He uses these modules firstly defines philosophy as “the rational investigation into fundamental questions of reality, knowledge and morality.” and conveys to us the view that philosophy uses reasons not faith.

Among them, we can understand that the branches of philosophy include Epistemology, Ethics, Logic, Metaphysics and Aesthetics. In the second half of the lecture, he passed the epistemology of Isaac newton, the philosopher Francis Bacon, the German philosopher Immanuel Kant, and the social scientist Karl Popper. The example introduces positivism and phenomenology, how philosophy creates science and what is social science. For example, Much of modern science came out of philosophy.

Reflection: I think philosophy is your reflection on the world you know. It can be summarized as the three words of world, appearance and reality: "the world is the appearance of reality", and "the world of appearance is not necessarily true." We are constantly learning knowledge in search of truth, and your cognition is constantly being deconstructed and reorganized. This process is interesting.

For me, it is more struggled to understand some theories of philosophers, maybe I don’t have enough knowledge and experience to understand haha.

What one says to compatriots in face-to-face conversations is often misunderstood. The various obstacles and differences in people's communication process are mainly caused by differences in perception. Barriers to intercultural communication
1) Language
2) Belief and behavior
3) Cultural diversity
4) Comparison of values
Generally speaking culture is what one shares with one's compatriots. I summary some methods to help us communicate effectively, although we come from different countries. First, break prejudices and try to accept diverse cultures. Increase sensitivity from attitudes and awareness, and enhance our global awareness. Second, listen to others carefully and patiently, and reply after you understand the meaning what he said. Third, respect yourself and others, try to avoid religious beliefs and politics when talking. Fourth, communicate sincerely and don't deceive others.

For example, "In Western culture, yellow is associated with happiness, joy, optimism, warmth (as the color of sunlight), joy and hope, as well as caution and shyness. In Germany, yellow represents jealousy, while in Egypt, it conveys happiness. And auspicious.”Text A expresses: color can shape and express emotions.

By contrast, Text B explores the culture of different countries from the perspective of color. For example, "In South Africa, red is associated with mourning, and the red part of the country’s flag symbolizes violence and sacrifice in the struggle. Independence. According to Thai tradition, each day of the week is assigned a specific color , And is associated with a specific god. Red is the color of Sunday, and it is related to the sun god Surya who was born on this day. Many Thais wear red clothes on his birthday every year. Ya pays tribute."

Regarding film workers, I know these positions: director, assistant director, executive director, casting director, assistant director, screenwriter, screenwriter assistant, script, storyboard, producer, executive producer, special effects artist, scene recorder , Martial arts instructor or other field instructors, sound engineer, lighting artist, makeup artist, costume artist, prop artist, camera, editing, subtitle, timeline, proofreading. Compared with the text given, there are still many posts missing.

If I am engaged in the film industry in the future, I hope I can be a director, which means direct actors' performances, direct camera work and a series of live work. Sometimes director also participates in screenwriting and editing work to express the audition effect he/she wants to present. Therefore, the director is the most knowledgeable person in the entire crew; the person with the most workload and the most pressure; and the person who bears the honor or reputation of the movie.

First of all, I love the film industry, and I hope to be a learned person in this field. Secondly, I am good at guiding work, communicating work, and grasping the overall situation, a person with certain leadership skills. Again, I treat each of my works as treat my baby, so that don't want it to be lost in any link and control every process. Finally, I hope to do challenging things. If successful, it will make me feel very fulfilled. I hope my name can be guided by more people.

TED Lesson on Animation shows the production of two different animations. There are three reasons why the process of animation production is similar to the process of writing.

First of all, the free-moving live-action shots in the world of animation are superimposed on the pictures outlined by black lines. Just like an article, it is composed of many words. Even if one or two words are missing, the overall expression is not smooth. Secondly, animations and articles use metaphors to convey feelings and thoughts. Finally, the combination of internal description and external structuring makes the work more intuitive to convey information.

The popularity of films

There are many reasons why a movie is popular, but in my opinion, the most important reason is that the movie itself is a good work, which means it has a good script, good acting skills and excellent production. I believe that good works will be liked and spread by everyone. However, the following three factors will also lead to the popularity of the movie: first, the actors in the movie have a high reputation and a large fan base; second, the movie has an IP effect; third, the movie is released during the New Year.

The popularity of a movie will cause some good and bad effects. On the one hand, if the film is successful, the popularity of the director and actors will rise. It is conducive for the director to have more choices and investment in the planning stage of the next film, and the actors have the right to increase the salary. But on the other hand, there is an old Chinese saying that "stand taller and fall worse." The expectations of audiences and fans will also increase. If the next film is not very popular, the director will have to bear a lot of questions from the journalists and public opinion.
