Large surface area to attract ample sunlight.&nbsp;<br>Hydrophobic surface: waxy coating, to prevent the leaves from becoming waterlogged. Aiding gas exchange and preventing the growth of algae.&nbsp;<br>Their roots help them stabilize in the water and absorb nutrients from the sediment through long rhizomes. </div>]]></description>

However this is controlled by the plant regulating the external conditions to see if is the right time for carbon dioxide to be taken up, for instance during the night as no ATP is produced water exits the guard cells.&nbsp;<br><br>Jesus lizard - uses the surface tension of the water and its thin body to actually walk on water, as a way to escape predators. </div>]]></description>

The wider the leaves, the more water that can be captured because they occupy a wider area, furthermore the wide leaves allow the plant to absorb as much sunlight as possible, due to this, the plants receive alot of sunlight, which allows them to grow a lot and also reproduce a lot.&nbsp;</div><div><br>Furthermore, in the green space we found spider webs. the resistant material which they are made of allows insects to stick to the spider web without flying through it and breaking it. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Penguin:<br>We used the penguins' counter current heat exchange to create an efficient and sustainable cooling system for our apartment building.&nbsp;<br>Tree:&nbsp;<br>We mimicked the shape of a&nbsp; shape to create shade for the apartments and to minimise wind exposure and make the wind circulate around the building.<br>Termite:&nbsp;<br>We used the termite's nest ventilation system to create a sustainable ventilation system. The termites create a nest that allows wind to flow underneath the structure and then the heat rises up through the middle of the structure ultimately releasing the undesired heat.<br><br></div>]]></description>
