Recession is when everything about business and people working slows down. So then business production goes from fast to slow and then the unemployment rate goes up. It's like a ripple effect because it starts with a lower demand than before on products and other items then people start to lose their job because of it. But the economy doesn't stay like this forever eventually everything would be back to normal with high demands on products and people will have their jobs back.
