         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>September 12-16, 2022</strong><br>Dear Diary,&nbsp;<br><br>This week, we transitioned back to online classes due to the rising of covid-19 in school. I was saddened by the announcement. However, my interest in learning never faded. 🥰<br><br>I had a lot of fun learning chemistry! 🧪⚗️ We named and wrote formulas of chemical compounds and it was honestly enjoyable. We discussed inorganic compounds, different types of chemical formulas, cations and anions, and so much more! I've surely gained more knowledge thanks to ma'am Carren's effective and wonderful explanation about the topic. 🤌<br><br></div><blockquote>All I can say is that, be a cation. Remove negativities in your life! 🌻</blockquote>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>September 19-23, 2022</strong><br>Another week, another chemistry!👩‍🔬<br><br>We focused on balancing chemical equations this week. At first, I thought it would be difficult! 😵‍💫But when I tried, practiced, and studied, it was actually just a piece of cake. 🍰<br><br>According to what I've learned in our discussion, in balancing chemical equations:</div><ol><li><strong>First, we must identify the complex substance</strong> and deal with it first than simpler substances such as oxygen and hydrogen. However, I prefer to list the elements first so that it will be easy to track which is already balanced.&nbsp;</li><li><strong>Next, we adjust the coefficients </strong>to make the compounds balanced! Note that we <strong>must not change</strong> 🙅‍♀️ the subscripts because if we will, it will be classified as another element.&nbsp;</li><li><strong>Then we look for polyatomic ions and balance them as a unit.🔎</strong> This is because polyatomic ions are covalently bonded to one another.&nbsp;</li><li><strong>Now, we can balance the remaining atoms!</strong> 🎉</li><li><strong>Lastly, check! check! check! </strong>✅This part is the most crucial because if we miss atoms or we balanced it wrong, then the answer will be incorrect. Thus, to make sure that our answer is right, we must check it again.&nbsp;</li></ol><div><br>Also,&nbsp;we have an activity in balancing equations! We answered in the jamboard ma'am gave us. Unexpectedly, all of our answers are correct. There are also doodles and drawings that were drawn by my classmates. Expectedly, ma'am was surprised to see because the drawings are adorable!<br><br>💟Quote of the week:&nbsp;</div><blockquote>Are you made of Copper and Tellurium?          <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>October 10-14, 2022</strong><br><br>Due to my participation in Regional Science and Technology Week 2022, I wasn't able to attend the first two meetings. 😔However, in our last meeting, ma'am gave us an activity about stochiometry! She let us discuss our thoughts and answers with our classmates so that all of us will have a better understanding of the topic.&nbsp;🤩<br><br>My seatmates and I agreed to help each other in understanding the topic! We explained to each other the reasons why we should solve the question with a specific solution. By the end of our discourse, I have learned a lot due to our conversion of ideas and learning from the lessons ma'am has taught us. 🥳</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>October 17-21, 2022<br><br>Team Ganda for the win! 🥳<br></strong>Honestly saying, I really had a lot of fun earlier during our quiz bowl. We solved molar masses, converted grams to moles, moles to grams, etc. We experienced time pressure,&nbsp;<br>mental block, and nervousness during the activity. However, due to perseverance and determination, we were able to reach the top🥇🤩! My groupmates and I managed to have the highest score in all of the groups. As a result, we have an additional point for our long test. ✨<br><br>Also, we had our long test this week! I'm truly grateful that ma'am Carren made sure that we understand the concepts. We answered several practice problems in relating amounts, percent composition, and many more. These actually helped me to apprehend the lesson better. ❤️‍🔥</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>September 26-30, 2022<br></strong><br>As shown in the picture above, we classified different types of chemical reactions. Ma'am Carren taught it in a fun way so we wouldn't forget about the different types. She introduced chemical reactions by comparing the relationships of couples and the problems they go through.😹<br><br>There are 5 types of chemical reactions:<br><br><strong><mark>(1) Combination Reaction ➕</mark></strong><br>Combination reaction or also called a synthesis reaction, is a reaction wherein two or more substances combine to form a single new substance. <br><br><strong><mark>(2) Decomposition Reactions ♻️</mark></strong><br>A decomposition reaction is a reaction where a compound breaks down into two or more simpler substances. <br><br><strong><mark>(3) Single-Replacement Reactions 🙎‍♀️</mark></strong><br>A single-replacement reaction is a reaction in which one element replaces a similar element in a compound. <br><mark><br></mark><strong><mark>(4) Double-Replacement Reactions 2️⃣</mark></strong><br>A double-replacement reaction is a reaction in which the positive and negative ions of two ionic compounds exchange places to form two new compounds.<br><br><strong><mark>(5) Combustion Reaction ⭕<br></mark></strong>A combustion reaction is a reaction in which a substance reacts with oxygen gas, releasing energy in the form of light and heat.<em><br><br></em>By the end of this week, I learned that classifying the types of chemical equations is helpful in predicting the products that may be formed, determining the energy absorbed or released by the reaction, changes in the state of the molecules, etc.🥰</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>October 3-7, 2022</strong><br><br>This week, we learned about the concept of <strong>stoichiometry</strong>!<br>I have heard this word a long time ago and their reaction to this word when I mentioned it was horrendous. They gave me a long sigh and explained that this topic was dangerous! 🚩Due to this experience, I was worried that I will have a hard time understanding the lesson. 😔But, it was a relief when I easily understood it!🤩<br><br>From what I have learned, stoichiometry is the area of study that examines the quantities of substances consumed and produced in chemical reactions. It helps us to determine questions like how many atoms of an element are in an object. Stoichiometry is actually somehow the same as converting the number of seconds in a day! 💚<br><br>In reality, stoichiometry is actually more fun than I expected it to be. With the mix of excitement, eagerness, and passion for learning, you will be able to understand this concept.🥰</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>September 5-9, 2022<br><br></strong>We discussed the introduction and basic concepts of chemistry in our first week! 1️⃣We reviewed the different atomic laws and theories that we must not forget as it is essential for future lessons. It will help me to understand the reasons for the reactions of elements and it will be utilized and will serve as a guide in chemical equations. 👩‍🔬<br><br>Also, we defined what is matter. Basically, <strong>matter</strong> is everything that occupies space and has mass. This "matter" 😹was already discussed during grade school so my classmates and I didn't really have much of a problem understanding this concept. 🥳<br><br>There are also subcategories in matter namely, physical and chemical properties. Physical properties are characteristics displayed by a sample of matter without undergoing any change in its composition. Meanwhile, chemical properties are characteristics displayed by a sample of matter as it undergoes a change in composition. <br><br>A lot of things were actually tackled this week. Thus, this also means that we have a lot of learnings and discoveries. 🤩<br><br>Honestly saying, I am grateful that we are learning about Chemistry. 💚Studying this field of science improves our knowledge about the things around us as it deals with the reasons why such things occur. <br><br><strong>Pun-ny? </strong>🤩</div><blockquote>I once told a chemistry joke and there's no reaction.&nbsp;<br>Don't trust atoms, they make up everything!&nbsp;</blockquote>]]></description>
