Scrape, scrape, scrape, I was drawing quietly in my room while my parents were talking outside. Then I heard a knock on my door, I opened it to find my mom, she told me to come to the balcony in  a worried voice. I felt my tummy flip, what did she want to tell me?

As soon as we got to the balcony where my dad was sitting with my sister, I asked “what do you want to tell me?” My mom glanced at my dad then began to speak up “Raya” she said, “we have been thinking of moving for a while, and now we got a house at a really nice condo. You will love it!!!” she said, I was speechless and my mind went blank, then I asked “when are we moving?” my dad answered “in about 4 months” I felt so unsure, thoughts flew through my mind like bullets shooting across the sky. 3 months past we were 1 month away from moving , I had so many feelings and thoughts! Who will want to be my friend?, will my friends miss me?, what if I am lonely?. Soon the day came and my mom and dad were out buying food for dinner. When my mom and dad came back with food I was starving, it was 6.45 when we started to eat, “I will get the forks and knives” I said, but when I opened the drawed it was empty. WE HAD PACKED IT!!! We had to eat with our hands. After the funny memory, we started packing our travel bags to leave, soon we were in our car ready to drive with the house empty, and everything all packed up and ready to go! On the car drive I thought about the opportunities that I would make new friends and understand new people!!!

When we got there I went straight away to check the house and condo out. When I walked outside I saw a group of kids playing in the playground but I was too nervous to say hi, so I let it be for the day and told myself to try again tomorrow. When I went home I found my mom and dad unpacking the bags and boxes, I joined them to unpack, after we finished a bit of unpacking we went to sleep. I thought about making new friends and I was even more determined! The next day I found them and told them that I just moved here and they said that I was welcome to join them to play everyday! 

I realised that I can make new friends everywhere and if you are resilient and believe in yourself then you can always turn a challenge into an opportunity, lastly my favourite part was when my mom supported me and helped me make my room cosy and nice. Now you might ask how my perspective changed. My perspective changed by knowing I could make my comfort zone bigger if I go out of it
