Raising my voice and speaking confidentially can show that I am secure in my experiences.

When listening to the interviewer, it's important to let them know when I am agreeing with what they're saying.

Many times I've had managers list negative traits they like to avoid with their employees. I need to make sure they know that I agree (even when I actually might not) that those traits are negative so that they won't expect me to repeat those mistakes.
I can frown or shake my head, indicating shared disappointment with those negative behaviors. Using those nonverbal cues makes the interviewer think I am on their side.

It's important to assert myself when needed. Although the interviewer is asking the questions, if you aren't showing interest in sharing then it seems that you're not an open person.

In all of my interviews I've experienced, the most successful were where I found a common interest with the manager interviewing me. I pride myself on knowing how to successfully control the flow of those conversations. Many interviewers enjoy that small break between the seriousness of it all. Leaning forward to show my interest in our shared topic helps them know this is something I enjoy talking about and can be revisited later on when I'm hired. That skill has made me become the 'favorite' and placed a lot of trust between us.

A lot of time spent in an interview is trying not to contradict yourself. This is hard, especially when you're compromising for a certain job.

It's important to practice what you plan to say to ensure it doesn't violate any company guidelines.

Although I personally don't want to work overtime, sometimes I have to go against that and say I'm open to it. Body language can make it obvious when you're agreeing to something you don't want to actually do. I usually show this by looking away, touching the back of my neck, or moving my hair behind my ear. These nonverbal cues are also used when I'm unsure or anxious about something. Since I notice these things can contradict what I'm saying, I have to practice to avoid them.
