The WPA is apart of the second New Deal. WPA stands for Work Progress Administration in which it provided jobs for unemployed people. Also this program helped rebuild offices, parks and public bridges. The WPA helped 3 million jobless people attain jobs. The WPA was effective and played a key role to getting America out of this slump.

Social Security act was created in 1935 in July to help elders and people with disabilities who are unable to work. This act is still around today! This act guaranteed pensions to millions of Americans, set up a system of unemployment insurance and stipulated that the federal government would help care for dependent children and the disabled. This act decreased poverty because these type of people started to receive aid to help support them, where as before they were living in poverty because they couldn't make money anymore or they were incapable of doing it due to disabilities.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Company was established to protect banking deposits up to 5,000, and today it is up to 100,000. This was very huge, because if we had this act before the Stock Market Crash, many would not be struggling like they were. This act increased trust in the banks again. This helped us get out of the Great Depression because it aided people at least some of the money that they lost to the Stock Market and banks going bankruptcy.
