Mostly teens at the age of 13-16 would probably watch this and be like i wish this was me or oh I can relate to part of the movie. Girls like to feel connected to movies like these romance high school fairy tale movies. It entertains us on what we want or have. I agree that Josh is as "bland at oatmeal" but Lara Jean saw something in him that not a lot of people saw because they were too focused on Peter. Josh and Lara Jean grew up together so they had this close bond that made Lara Jean start to have feelings. I also agree that peter is  utterly charismatic and is VERY charming. He also gets Lara Jean in a way. With her idolized sister Margot leaving for college, Lara Jean doesn't feel ready for the  coming changes: becoming more responsible for their younger sister, Kitty, helping their widowed father, or seeing Margot break up with Josh, the boy  next door—whom Lara Jean secretly liked first. But there's even greater upheaval to  come, when Lara Jean's five secret letters to the boys  she's loved  are mailed to  them by accident. Lara Jean runs when sweet, dependable Josh tries to  talk to  her about her letter. And when Peter Kavinsky gets his letter, it brings him back into Lara Jean's life, all  handsome, charming, layered and complicated. They start a fake relationship to  help Lara Jean deal with Josh and Peter to  get over his ex. But maybe Lara Jean and Peter will discover there's something more between them as they learn about themselves and each other. It's difficult to  see this book as a love triangle—Josh is bland as oatmeal, and Peter is utterly charismatic. Meanwhile, readers may find that Lara Jean sometimes seems too naïve and rather young for 16—though in many ways, this makes her feel more realistic than many of the  world-weary teens that populate the  shelves. Lara Jean is doing it to make Josh jealous and it seems to have been working. Lara Jean started getting rides from Peter and that led to movie watching and hanging out a lot! To the point of those crushes where she couldn't hold her feelings in any longer and she wrote them down on a letter. She had there addresses down on the letter but never sent them. This hat box was something Lara Jeans mom gave her before she died. The box is very priceless to her. While Lara Jean was hanging out with her little sister KItty she fell asleep on the couch. While she was asleep Kitty thought it was a good idea to send the letters out to all of the boys. She felt bad for her sister and how she has never had a boyfriend. But when they started to talk more and Peter and Lara Jean start talking about their parents. They talked about things they have never told anyone. They had a deep connection to each other and only Peter saw it. Later in the movie Lara Jean noticed it too when she looked back at the love letters he was giving her everyday. They both expected to fall for someone else but instead they found each other. They are at the ski resort and they are in the hot tube telling each other how they have always been the one. Then that is when the fake relationship became real almost. Until Lara Jean found out Peter slept in Gen's room. His EX.... And this affects their "relationship' big time. She is very mad at Peter now. She can't believe she fell for him. But she didn't hear the whole story he went in there to tell Gen it was over for good.
