If my identity was stolen I would turn to the NACA to get it sorted out. To protect myself from fraud I will make sure to keep all of my personal accounts and numbers secret so it doesn’t get out to the public. I will also check my credit report to make sure nothing is happening without me knowing. A family friend of mine went through identity fraud in college. She was close with her roommate like most people are and her roommate took advantage of that and got her information then spend hundreds from her account. She now is very careful about her identity and doesn’t share it with anyone even if she thinks she can trust them.
