Ferdinand Magellan was a Portugese explorer, born in 1840, who was sent to explore the spice islands including the Ambon Islands, Halmaheranate,Seram Island, and Tidore. As he was navigating, he became the first explorer to circumnavigate the earth. He was the first to discover the Phillipines, and he introduced the Phillipines to Christianity. He explored for 3 years, from 1519 to 1522. His fleet, 5 ships and 270 people, only came back with one ship and 18 people, sadly, he was not one of them. He died in 1521, near the end of the exploration.

No one is really sure when Francisco Pizarro was born , but they think he was born in the early 1470's , around maybe 1475. He died on the 26th of June in 1541 , around the age of 65-70. He was born in Trujillo, Cacares, Spain ( modern day is known as

Extremadura in Spain). He explored for Peru for a very long time and was very loyal towards them. He explored in the years 1476-1532. His reason for exploring were pretty selfish, his reasons were that he wanted to make discoveries of his own and find his own fortune so he doesn't have to rely on the people of Peru to pay for him to travel. His discoveries were the Pacific Ocean and the Incan Empire. Some interesting facts were that he was the second cousin , once they removed of Hernan Cortez. Another interesting fact is that nobody from that time period to the present knows when Pizarro was born , it's a mystery to this day. And lastly , the famous explorer Hernando de Suto was part of Pizarro's group.

No one knows the exact date he was born on but it was sometime in the 1450's. He died on May 29, 1500, he was around 49-50 years old . He was born in Algarve Portugal. His main goal was to seek a new royal patron for a mission to establish his own sea route to the Far west to round the Cape Of Good Hope in the 1480's. The purpose of this was to discover another trading route from Europe to Asia. In 1488 he completed the trading route in 2 ships. He discovered a fast way to get to India to increase trade.
