I am independent and always looking forward to succeeding and accelerating in my learning. Not only my learning but activities that I participate in. My interest of scuba diving and welding help me determine what courses I should take that could potentially lead to my future career. Let's face it we all want a job that we enjoy.
I have given a lot of thought in what I wish to be when I get older. I think I stress the most about that because I don’t want to hate what I’m doing for the rest of my life. I narrowed it down. I don’t wish to go to collage, when I graduate, I graduate from school forever and I don’t wish to be in debt either. There goes any medical career. Personally I’m not into the office jobs or any big company job where your always struggling to find time for family and any personal time do to the stress and responsibility that owning a multi- milliare company may carry. I like hands on, small, own-your-own business just like my dad. So I find myself narrowing down my choices in the traits. Welding is only my first choice. Then I thought of underwater welding. I know exactly what I need to get done for that path. As I said before I scuba dive and I enjoy welding. It’s not everyday where you hear someone say they want to be an underwater welder. Part of the reasoning for the choice is because I don’t like to follow the trend all the time. So far I am the only person I know who has chosen this path. Not to be sexist or anything but it’s not any secret that many girls get involve in the traits. I sometimes like being able to prove myself as being capable of the potential skills that it takes to be in the traits as men. It’s challenging in a certain way to be one of the very few women that enter the traits. It’s accomplishing all together. As a welder/underwater welder some companies thrive for more women. It looks better for their company as well in the traits. So there is a good chance that I could get a good position as a welder/underwater. Welding let alone is a good paying job depending on your skill set and where you work so if I just don’t feel like taking it to a higher level I don’t have to go for underwater welder. There is also the option of switching back in forth between the two. Depending on where on live underwater welding might just be a seasonal job. Having both skill sets under the belt would be very handy in the future.

I just started softball this year (Freshman year) and I enjoy cheering. My personal best is scuba diving with my mum. We do it together along with archery. Not only is scuba diving a great bonding activity with my mum but it also helps me in the future. See I wanna be a underwater welder. By having my certification done gives me time to work on being proficient at this skill, which is one step closer to my goal. I know I enjoy welding because I’ve tried welding at SMCC with one of the professors. I owe that to my mum’s connections. Eventually it will all come together.

My favorite classes would be anything with history, civics in particular because its about American history. I’m given interesting yet challenging projects to do, so when I finish them I usually get a good grade and it feels rewarding. Global Studies can be fun too but its hard with the teacher I was given to enjoy it. I remember better by sight. I learn hands-on work by figuring it out myself or visually.

It helps when they speak every step out loud as they are going along that way I can repeat and reply their actions in my head to copy. My mum says I’m a lot like my dad when it comes to learning new things. We are very tactile. But I really don’t understand new information till I have it, told to me first then I have to see it and last I have to do it myself. Most of the time I like to figure things out myself but lets say its math I prefer to be spoken/taught to me and then I have to see/read it myself otherwise I forget what I was told. By hearing it and seeing the material I then have the words/letters to math up with the voice that had just gave my the information. Strength: organization Weakness: studying

My interest could also strive forward to earn internships at a trait company like construction companies. It would be nice to be able to job shadow for welding, kinda hard to job shadow for underwater welding though if you get my drift.

CATC would be my next closest step to reaching my goal. Not sure what company I want. My mum and me have discussed many different opportunities so that is still undecided. If I choose to reach for higher then the next step would be applying for Divers Academy. I just gotta stick to the plan, do well in school, and graduate. My plan is to graduate in 2020 which is my original graduating date. All I’m looking for is to graduate with average grades, because I’m graduating early it doesn’t really give me much time to get ahead and take AP classes, I just need the requirements.

Thats hard to say, every year I have the same habits of learning. I get my work done and I just move on. I guess I can say that expanding my social circle is a plus and getting average grades went well. But the teachers don’t plan deadlines to well because now that its the end of the year we have to cram finals in and I don’t think my class finished math. It’s like they started slow and now it’s too fast and too stressful plus finals take time. My favorite subject is history. Something about history just makes me happy. Maybe because I sometimes think that back then there was more to life then now. I gotta say I day dream a lot and we weren’t here to witness some bug history events. So you have no choice but to go by what has been told by pasted down generations of stories. This gives me the chance to picture it for myself. I get to make up what it would have looked like and what I would have been like if I was put in these events.
