There is no shame, but shame stops us from moving beyond bias, because shame makes us hide our bias. As a social justice 'warrior' it is my mission to avoid shaming people and to help continue to create opportunities for dialogue. One of the main points of teaching this unit is to create awareness and allow students to create meaning by relating these issues to the world in which we live today.
