Working at North Star Academy, all teachers are given their lesson plans. However, it is up to teachers to internalize and deliver the content in an effective manner for students. One of the biggest challenges with that is knowing and understanding how to explain content in multiple ways as all students learn differently. Khan Academy does an amazing job at breaking down content areas and making it understandable. Watching videos on this site will enable all teachers, no matter the experience to find news ways to break down material to students. Teachers can use these sites as in class lesson plan supplements, additional resources for students are parents, links to online professional development, STEM activities for students to increase engagement, etc. In addition to the range of teachers that will be able to utilize these resources, students will be able to utilize them as well. Majority of the listed sites are for educators and students. Students can use these sites to study, receive additional explanations on topics learned in class, or as engagement tools to increase their interest in STEM.
