In the end of last May my classmates and I went on a short break in the well known city of London located on the River Thames in the south east of the island of Great Britain. We stayed at a small hostel close to the city centre. When we arrived, it was slightly warmer than we expected it to be but that made everything even better, since the weather in Estonia was still fairly chilly at that time.

London is an interesting city. Apart from<del> it's </del>its more modernized buildings, it features a lot of beautiful historic architecture and the hackney carriages that are constantly driving back and forth just add to its magic.

Since we stayed for only a few days, we didn't have time to see everything. We did however visit the London Dungeon and went on the London Eye. In addition, we explored the Natural History Museum with its humongous dinosaurs and other exciting exhibitions. We also decided to hop into a couple of pubs where they served many British specialities such as the famous fish and chips. They tasted absolutely amazing.

We definitely enjoyed every last minute of our trip. London is such a fascinating city that I would without doubt like to go back one day.

-Richard

When we first arrived, it was really coming down, but I had always wanted to experience the rainy London.

London is a fabulous city. It has something to offer for every taste! It's filled with both ancient historic buildings and modern architect<del>ular</del>ural wonders.

Most unfortunately, we didn't have time to see and do everything, but I was very pleased with everything we did manage to see. For example, we saw the famous Buckingham Palace, the amazing London's Eye and of course, the St. Paul's cathedral. St Paul's cathedral was built in 1673. With <del>it's</del> its <del>2</del> two magnificent towers, the cathedral sure blew me away. I also enjoyed British food - I finally got to taste the well known fish and chips. It was absolutely tasty!

Our visit to London was beyond my wildest expectations.

Last May our class went on a trip to London – the capital of England. Our decision was strongly related to the interest to England and a little wish to practise English in real life. For <del>4</del> four days we stayed at a proper hostel near <del>to </del>the sights we wanted to explore.

London is a very large town with its 8 million residents. It’s one of the world’s most visited cities and has something for everyone. Of course we visited London’s must see tourist attractions such as Big Ben and Tower Bridge. It was kind<del>a</del> of strange feeling to stand near to so grandiose and massive building as it was Big Ben, it was really sightworthy ( worth seeing). But the most breathtaking moment during the trip was prob<del>r</del>ably a walk along Tower Bridge wherefrom we could see a stunning scene of London city. In addition, we also visited different museums, for example the National History Museum, which <del>agen </del>was just giant. It really hid<del>ed</del> the whole world’s history in it and those exhibitions were very interesting!

I quess it definitely was a trip full of new experiences, which made my world a step bigger. London was a boundlessly charming city and I’m not surprised anymore why it’s so popular holiday destination. I’ll never forget that trip.

-Lyanne

<del>In</del> On the last day of May, we went with our class to London, the first city in the world, which gained one million population. This 5-day trip was for us to practice <del>e</del>English <del>w</del>that we have been studying for last 8 years. When we arrived, the weather was quite warm and sunny, for me it was marvellous for early summer.

London is a very crowded and buzy city. It has many valuable and sentimental historic buildings, which are known around the world.

We walked through many parks<del>,</del> like Hyde Park, St James Park, <del>T</del>the Regent`s Park, they all turned out to be glorious in this season. We also visited many popular tourist attractions from Big Ben and Tower Bridge to Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey. Also we went to spectacular Trafalgar Square, where we took many photos. One day we even had time to go out of <del>the</del> London. After one hour train drive, we made to Cambridge, where we visited the beautiful Cambridge University. I fell in love with this city with<del> his</del> its romantic canals and friendly coll<del>a</del>ege students. Last day we went to Oxford Street to buy gifts for our relatives and friends <del>in</del> at home.

I really enjoyed this journey, but sometimes it turned out to be really tiring, because I wasn´t used to be surrounded with so many people as London offered <del>to</del> me.
