Students are sometimes blindsided by the format and delivery of assessment tasks in college (this has been the case in my IT classes). Writing a shorter practice item to prepare them for each task and simulating the conditions of the actual item may yield more timely opportunities to render feedback which assists students to do their best.

Ask students "do they read over feedback from formal assessment". Teachers can give students time to look at feedback and see how it is taken up. Student feedback I have sort says they often are not interested in the feedback once the assessment is done.

So many students want to wear their sports uniform. Similarly we have talked about ownership, connectivity and unity as a college. Without uniform, there is stress and some students hate it. This is also a good training for them to be job ready and being part of the wider workforce.

The college looks like its falling apart in places. Some gardens and learning spaces are so old and uninspiring. With a fresher spaces and nice gardens, students can feel more inspired to learn and feel that the whole school is important. This will lead to less damage cultural care too.

Imagine if everyone focused on skills rather than content and the content became the vehicle for teaching the skills.

Have a comprehensive CBRC student guide to college, that include the majority of issues / concerns /expectation of college, hours of attendance, class selections, extended leave, absence notification procedure and responsibilities of student and parents, V to A, insubstantial attempts. etc available on our website. On the acceptance of offer letter / code of conduct that is signed by the parents and students on enrolment have the student guide reference to and signed they agree to abide by it.

More time to address when the expectations are not being meet or students are underperforming how we (student, parents take responsibility for themselves to resolve the problem with the schools support.

Could we please have a data collection/survey tool that keeps student responses anonymous but allows us to track individual students across their time at college? (or even across a semester?) Eg. they often feel overwhelmed in term 1, and more relaxed after they get used to routines, task expectations, etc. May help provide more context for other data collection (eg. school climate survey done around AST time - so silly!)
