It can cause Mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, or trauma, and can lead individuals to use drugs as a form of self-medication. Peer pressure and social influences, especially during adolescence, also contribute to the initiation of drug use. Environmental factors, such as living in a high-stress or unstable home, and cultural norms can normalize or encourage drug use. Additionally, curiosity, stress, and a desire for escapism or pleasure are common psychological reasons for drug experimentation and misuse.
