Last week we talked about your own experiences, and in particular, we looked at the four schemas that we can use to think about Humanities education: these being concept based, issues based, skills-based, and disciplined based.

Your post this week reflected a very good understanding of what and why the Humanities are important in our schools. You all showed an understanding of how the Humanities teaches us to learn about people places and experiences that are connected to local and global contexts. You spoke of 21st-century skills of being able to collaborate with others to form opinions, to problem solve and to begin to think critically and passing these skills onto our students.

We started to explore the Australian Curriculum and noted that the most recent version (version 8.3) combines the individual discipline areas within the primary year levels. From now, we'll explore the pedagogy of teaching the Humanities so that you can make decisions on the most effective way to teach your future students.

Well done everybody on a great start.
