Fighting continues and Napoleon leaves Haiti(1802-1803)

January 1802 Napolean ordered an invasion on Saint-Domingue and after several months of hard fighting, L'ouverture agreed to a cease fire. But then he was arrested (and later died). After, Napolean announced his plan to have slavery again on Haiti and Dessalines started a new revolt against French rule. Britain helped Haiti beat the French and on November 9, 1803 colonial authorities surrendered.
