We will need to work on building relationships and trust within the Somali community first in order to accomplish our goal of developing a partnership to enhance the quality of child care within this community which will ultimately benefit the kindergarten readiness of children coming from these centers.

I enjoyed hearing the conversation about the Osman working with women and the role of women in his culture.  I think that Mustafa has a great role in advocating for the Somali Child Care centers in a political way.

Human/Social capitol is critical to listen to and meet the needs of Somali caregivers, family & children. They are on duty 24/7 daily which Osman stated was also a cultural response. Connecting with them could build possible bridges of accessibility, cultural awareness/practice in the future.

As a result the weekly meetings and communication support the growth of the organization. The organization has grown in paramount ways in just a few months. Human and environmental capital is small, while there is high cultural and community capital. I see opportunities to grow in our partnership.

They both seem to be very dedicated to their community in ensuring that Somali providers have the tools they need to be successful in what they do.  It's amazing how many members they have with little human resource. I hope that they continue to grow as an organization.  It is important for many of our cultural groups to be supported by organization such as theirs.
