From our country, we chose the beaver as our animal and the pine tree as our plant.
There are many beavers in our country, and many pine forests grow near the Baltic Sea.

Fun facts:
Beavers are great builders — they can build dams and houses in the water using wood and mud.
A beaver’s teeth never stop growing, so it must keep chewing wood!

Pine trees stay green all year round, even in winter.
They have a nice fresh smell, and their cones hold the seeds for new trees.

📍 Hello from Romania! 🇷🇴 We are so excited to pin our city on the map! For our project, we have chosen the Brown Bear (Ursul brun) and the Fir Tree (Bradul).

🌲 Why did we choose them? We chose the Fir Tree because the beautiful Carpathian Mountains in Romania are covered in deep, evergreen fir forests. In our culture, the fir tree is a symbol of nature's strength and beauty. We chose the Brown Bear because these grand forests are their perfect home. In fact, the bear is often considered the king of the Romanian forests!

🐻 An Interesting Fact from our Children: Did you know that Romania is home to the largest population of brown bears in Europe? There are over 6,000 brown bears wandering through our mountains! Even though they are huge and look heavy, they can run very fast—up to 50 km/h!

We created our forest with animals like the fox, the wolf, the wild boar, the frog and the squirrel.

Our students’ favorite animal is the wolf 🐺.

You can hear them say its name and make its sound!

We chose the peony, because it symbolizes the beauty, elegance and richness of Romanian traditions. The peony is very widespread in the country's flora, being found both in gardens and in protected natural areas. This flower also appears frequently in folklore, art and popular customs, becoming a symbol of Romanian cultural identity.

The peony is one of the most beloved flowers in Romania and was chosen as the national flower.

🌸 There are peonies of many colors: red, pink, white and even yellow!

🌸 Peonies can live a very long time – some plants can even bloom for over 50 years!

🌸 The peony flower is very fragrant and attracts bees and butterflies.

🌸 The peony is considered a symbol of luck, love and happiness.

We live in Crete, the beautiful island of Greece, which is home to a large number of endemic animals and plants. The children drew the Cretan wild goat (Kri-Kri), the palm forest, the Cretan wildcat, the bearded vulture, and many others that didn’t fit on our endemic map.

We live in the city of Volos, which is located by the sea. Inspired by our coastal environment, the children decided to create a collage of the sea and paint lots of colorful fish.
