I think the author did not name a specific place or area for setting because he or she might give it away. And it will sound like a mystery when Mr. Lowe reads through the book we will find the case and what's the place or area in the setting of the book.

I believe it means that say if their is a War in Afghanistan and it isn't happening in Australia, it doesn't mean it isn't happening anywhere else.

I think that the author didn't name a specific place or name because I believe that she would like as to wonder about where the setting is. It makes you have a better image in your head and say if it was in America, the book wouldn't make it sound like a puzzle. Maybe at then end the author might tell where it would be...

I think just because it isn't happening here doesn't mean it isn't happening in the world because there are more things happening in the world than happening at your destination like if people are not playing football in your destination doesn't people are not playing football now. I think the author did not name a specific place or area as the setting of the book because she wanted to make us use our brains and try to solve where the place is located.

The author did not mention the setting because she is putting lots of clues for us to figure it out. She is doing this to make the story more interesting by making the reader figure it out.

For the second question I think the author didn't mention a specific place or area as the setting of the book because that way people can relate better to the story instead of it being in one place it hasn't actually got a setting leaving some kind of mystery.

I think the author did not name a specific place or area as the setting of the book, because making a specific destination for the story means that it limits the range of ideas. So saying it's in America means that it can't have AFL. Also a good book keeps your reader guessing so as long as reading the book you can try and guess where it's set. And you can also change the area to how you like it in your mind.

I think that the author did not mention where the story is set because the story is more enjoyable and you feel more emotion if you visualise a place for the story to be set, if you just know where the story is taking place it is not as realistic. I also think that the author has not mentioned where the story is set because the reader might think that some of the things written in the story do not happen where the author has set the story.

I think Sarah Pennypacker didn't put a specific place in the book because wars can happen anywhere and not just in one place. I also think she didn't put a specific place because it's a fictional book so you don't need to base it specifically anywhere but she could have done that to make us think about where it is

2.The author didn't state the area because if someone read were it was based, they would protest about it because probably there was no civil war or war there and why couldn't she base in another place.

I think the author didn't mention the place the story was set in because she might of wanted to keep it a mystery and let us figure it out ourselves. Sarah Pennypacker might of thought that if she put the place in the story it would give the book away.

2. I think the author did not name a place in the book just to make the book interesting and the reader just has to imagine where the place could be to make it a page turner.

That phrase means to me because things in the world, like Hillary and Donald with the election just because it isn't happening in Australia or anywhere else it  doesn't mean it's not happening. And in the book when the father went up to the war it doesn't mean it's actually not happening just because we don't hear about him all the time. Like in a photo and something bad happened, just because you didn't see what was happening it doesn't mean it didn't actually happening.

I think that the author did not name a specific place or area as the setting of the book because I think the author wants the reader to think, just because the place or the area isn't there in the story it doesn't mean that in the book ts actually here. And I think that the author wants us to imagine the places in the story.
