Music and Singing?

From a young age, I have always been interested in singing and my family encouraged me to do so. I was rather shy though, so I wasn’t really able to go around and showcase my abilities until recently. Now, I am part of the Ateneo Blue Band club here in ADDU SHS, where I got to perform for the CTK Theme Song this year (2024), and in Himig! Here are the bands that I am in (Middle Child, Yaw Meng).

Not only that, I am a worship leader at our church! I was so happy to be able to do this since it was a big responsibility, but I am thankful to be given this opportunity to serve God and the people in my church this way.

One of my biggest hobbies (and passions, I guess)! I’ve always enjoyed drawing and sketching (both traditionally and digitally) since I can remember, and I’m constantly learning new things to improve my art. Sadly though, I don’t really get to do much of it due to the busy schedule.

Why do I like these media?

I enjoy consuming and participating in these media as they give me the opportunity and the platforms to connect with people and discover new things. Not only that, but they are also my source of inspiration and entertainment in my daily life, which has dramatically impacted my lifestyle in one way or another. These media, such as social media, music, literature, and art, have all been deeply intertwined with who I am, allowing me to express myself to my fullest potential.

How are these media affecting me? Is this healthy?

I think that these media are impacting me in both positive and negative ways. I would say that it affects me positively as it fosters my interests and growth, not only in terms of hobbies but even in day-to-day situations that require media use (such as in school, at home, and other examples). It has made me more confident in my behavior, helped me discover new things about myself, and helped me learn about the world and the happenings around me. Media has genuinely helped me in so many aspects of my life. Despite this, it still does have its opposing sides. Media can become a distraction for me, preventing me from doing or focusing on important tasks as it would cause me to procrastinate. Not only that, the media has placed unhealthy mindsets on me, such as low self-esteem and a false perception of a lot of things. In conclusion, the media has been a double-edged sword for me, which comes to the retrospective on the importance of balance in media consumption.

Why white bread by itself is good (my take on this)

When you ask someone if they like plain white bread by itself, they'd probably say: "Eww, that's so bland!" I beg to differ. White bread, like the Gardenia brand, is tasty even without spreads or jams. I think this is so because white bread has an underlying sweetness while not being too overpowering, and it has a great soft texture. Others may say differently, but I stand for this.
