As war between Prussia and Austria progressed, Germans began to feel a sense of unity. Students even began to volunteer to fight for the Prussians against France. Many people started making it known that they wanted unification between Prussia and Austria. People also wanted unification and liberal reforms, and because of this it started the Revolution of 1848. These revolutions also caused liberals to meet and push for a united German constitution. When Fredrick William the fourth was crowned king of Germany he declared war on Austria and forced the German states to divide. When Germany won the war the northern states were united with the northern Germany confederate. Then when Bismarck was crowned Emperor he took Alsace Lorraine from the French, and went on to become the dominate power of the continent of Europe.

Since the fall of Rome, Italy was divided. When Napoleon invaded Italy he created the kingdom of Italy in the North hearken back to the old constitution. But when Napoleon was defeated, Italy reverted back to a independent country. And Victor Emmanuel became the leader. Then revolutions rose up and the Austrian Sicilians fought for independence. And unfortunately failed in their fight for independence. So Victor Emmanuel decided he needed an ally. His ally became prime minister Koval. Victor Emmanuel decided to send troops to Crimea to fight the Russians. When little did they know Giuseppe Garibaldi was going to attack Naples, but luckily Victor's troops were still stationed there. And because of all that Garibaldi handed over his southern conquests to Victor Emmanuel and the kingdom of Italy. And Italy then became unified.

The Mexican War of Independence started between the people of Mexico and Spanish. The war between them started on September 16, 1810. The Mexican War of Independence was led by Mexican-born Spaniards, Mestizos, Zambos and Amerindians who sought independence from Spain. It started as an idealistic peasants' rebellion against their colonial masters, but finally ended as an unlikely alliance between liberals, and conservatives.

In 1860 the insurrection would be a success as Garibaldi and his army the Redshirts would attack the island of Sicily and Naples. Meanwhile, the northern states had joined up with Piedmont-Sardinia and elected Victor Emmanuel II as their King. Garibaldi handed Naples and Sicily to him in November 1860 and by 1861 Italy was declared as a kingdom. Only Venice and Rome were still under foreign control and they became a part of Italy in 1866 and 1871 respectively. And then Unification of Italy was completed.
