  • Inequality isn't just subject to one group or area, we all have to work together to stop it because its a global issue.
  • Some of the ways that we can stop inequality is by starting with giving the under privileged, migrants and disabled jobs and making them "equal" to the rest of society.

  • Nurses can do this by "Engaging in a period of self-reflection regarding their personal and professional values regarding civility, mutual respect, and inclusiveness, and resolve any potential conflicts in ways that ensure patient safety and promote the best interests of the patient" (ANA, 2015)
  • Barriers include personal views the nurse has, their culture and family values, these all can have a major impact on how we treat others.
Stay educated & educate others
  • "Nurse researchers must support and conduct research that is inclusive in nature, including diverse populations and their health care needs" ( ANA, 2019)
  • Barriers include limited resources and money. Healthcare might not want to put money towards research.

WHAT ~ what is the goal of reducing inequality?
This goal is meant to reduce the amount of inequality that occurs globally. We want for everyone to receive the same treatment regardless of their financial, political, racial, religious, or social status. Equality is the ULTIMATE goal.

WHEN ~ when does inequality occur?
Inequality has always been an issue dating back to whenever humans were created. There has always been a higher authority, or someone who has greater value. In our current year 2020, racial, economic, and gender inequality are causing a current uproar in the News and social media.

WHERE ~ where does inequality take place?
Inequality is seen everywhere. In healthcare, law enforcement, schools, financial institutions, and even at the Grocery store. Unfortunately, it happens pretty much everywhere.
