I was able to scrunch and release the paper and it would eventually start to fold out on its own.

I was able to make a plane with this paper and fly it.

I was able to rip the paper and blow it and it would fly away

This video is me ripping the paper and then blowing this away, I found this very satisfying as the paper runs away.

Junk has so many meaningful ways to be used in the class room.

Examples of junk could be milk jugs and lids, cardboard boxes, magazines, old pipes and many more

Its sustainable
It can be used in the arts and crafts table
can be used in sensory
can extend on children's imagination, creativity, cutting skills and so many more

I have taken into the classroom milk cartoons, old tubes and pipes, egg cartoons and the children loved the resources and made so many amazing creations

clay is a stiff, sticky fine-grained earth that can be moulded when wet, and is dried and baked to make bricks, pottery, and ceramics.
Clay comes from the ground, usually in areas where streams or rivers once flowed. It is made from minerals, plant life, and animals—all the ingredients of soil.
Prehistoric humans discovered the useful properties of clay. Some of the earliest pottery shards recovered are from central Honshu, Japan.
Clay can be recycled and infinite number of times and it never gets spoilt,it gets better with age.
Within the past clay was also used to create ceramic jars where deceased people were placed

Week 4 - Light

I find light beautiful, children are able to create and make different lights and shadows. Children are also able to use their colour recognition and learn about colour mixing with primary colours.

Light is a source of ever-changing wonder for children. Simple moments exploring light can grow into explorations in science, math, art, and language. At very young ages children begin to realise that light can change, make shadows, and have direct sources such as the sun.

This child was using his hands and making a shadow of a crocodile and pretending to snap by moving his hands.

I set up the clay activity by placing 4 mats and 4 lots of clay and placed water in the middle, I didn't explain anything to the children I allowed them to explore.

The children started painting the clay with water and realised it was getting softer the more water they were using.

The children started to get their hands dirty an d rolling the clay on the water on the table and making different sculptures. My children made lots of balls using the clay !

Over all I have loved this unit as I was able to explore different material that allowed myself as the teacher and the children to be creative !!
