         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>All students</strong> - have an awareness around what climate change is, the effects of climate change and their own personal contributions through a written speech.<br><br><strong>Most students</strong> - as above. Will be able to include arts of persuasion into their speeches. <br><br><strong>Some students</strong> - as above. Students will be able to make wider connections to the world around them, in order to transform people's independent responsibility for climate change. Will have an awareness that English can be used as a tool of persuasion through their speech writing.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Year 7 students have studied a science and geography unit on the effects of climate change but not necessarily the personal impact they could have to shift towards eco-positivity. Activities in some local primary schools include that of 'Forest School' so many students have an awareness of the impact of climate change.<br>Primary school topics included 'unique speaks' and persuasive transactional writing in their English lessons.<br>This Scheme of Learning will enable pupils to explore the importance of their impact on climate change and allow them to persuade others to make a difference.<br>Developing awareness of the topic and a sound understanding of what different things can make an impact.<br>6 SEND students<br>5 High Attainers<br>9 EAL students</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Learning:<br></strong>Students will be taken outside where four separate visual climate change scenarios will be presented to them. Students should be able to decide on solutions and learn what different solutions there are for climate change.<br><strong>Overall task: </strong><br>Students to identify the climate change issue and decide what their solutions will be to rectify the problems. These solutions can be either individual or wider societal contributions. <br>Students will work together in pairs to decide what issue they discuss and what solution they will have. From this, students will individually choose one issue to present their speech on, and solutions based on this issue to persuade their audiences of what to act on.<br><br><em>This task is to gather concrete ideas on what their speeches will be around, giving the students opportunities to explore a variety of solutions, giving their speeches substance once crafted.<br><br><br></em><br></div>]]></description>

Overall idea: pupils will be presented with different visual scenarios to identify the specific climate change issues and create different personal solutions to the problems.
